Did the title of this workshop make you nervous?
How many hours have you lost this week to scrolling through your Instagram feed?
Have you ever exited Facebook only to find yourself automatically typing "facebook.com" into a new tab?
Erika Brook Adickman will help you pinpoint the areas of your life negatively affected by social media. This workshop will cover expert research on the impact social media has on the brain, empathy and relationships. You'll also learn how to create your own plan to make social media support your life and add value to your day. (And no, you won't have to go completely "off the grid" or start meditating every day.)
You'll walk away knowing how to:
- "Mari Kondo" your social feeds
- Eliminate your worst social media habits
- Create a morning and evening routine that you'll love much more than checking Facebook, Instagram and Twitter over and over again.
- Stay connected to the people who matter most without letting social media run your life
ABOUT THE HOST:
I'm Erika Brooks Adickman, the co-founder of SELTZR, a digital marketing consulting firm. After working in digital for nearly a decade, what I decided to do might surprise you — I unplugged. Yep. I went on a 30-day social media detox, and the effects blew. my. mind.
I realized my daily social media consumption was significantly increasing my anxiety, my relationships were suffering because I wasn't connecting face-to-face with the people who mattered the most and I'd completely gotten off track with my career goals (pretty much all the important things in my life). After just a month away from social, it was clear that the hours each day I'd spent scrolling were more than just a distraction, they were a crutch and a place holder for the life I really wanted to be living offline.
And now I want to help you do the same. If I can do it for 30 days, you can do it for 30 minutes.
